Market OTB : For a boho, outdoorsy, relaxing fix.

Imagine beautiful overcast weather, lush green grass under your feet, twinkling high-rises all around, like giant guardians, providing shade. It was a beautiful weekend for the Market OTB, held in the lawns of Southridge, an apartment cluster in Downtown Dubai. Small kiosks featuring local artists, jewellery artisans, vintage furniture, organic juice, flanked the grassy plane. In the centre was a stage with jazz artists crooning at intervals, with a sax player serenading the crowds. Families relaxing on bean bags, kids running around, holding a juicy manaeesh in their hands.
For me, some things to definitely check out was the kiosk titled Precious Jewels. Beautiful jewellery, interesting head gear and rings. Maple Leaf, a restaurant, also had their kiosk up selling different types of manaeesh (I recommend the Akawi cheese one: light and yum). And of course the Karak Chai from this stall called Mama Tani. Had the right amount of kick to keep us hanging out at the market, enjoying some down time.
It’s a great initiative to meet up with friends, grab a snack, buy yourself something unique and fun and make the most of the great outdoors, something we barely do in Dubai.
Also, for the kiddies, there were lots of rides and games to keep them having a great time.I highly recommend coming down next weekend to check it out.
